Boeing has gained an order for Emirates Airlines for their Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner. The airline has committed to 40 aircraft of the type and as current list prices the deal is worth around 15.1 billion dollars. Appearing at the 2017 Dubai Airshow’s opening press conference yesterday, Emirates chairman and CEO Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum explained that the airline continued to examine the engine option for the order and expects to decide between the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 TEN and General Electric GEnx-1B shortly. “So you can look forward to another announcement very soon,” he said.

FlyDubai in the news again at the Dubai Air Show. They just ordered a whopping 225 Boeing MAX aircraft. Yes this is on top of the 76 MAX8's they already have on order. The massive order is expected to cost in the region of 27 billion dollars. The Boeing deal is defined as a 'commitment' for 175 aircraft, with purchase rights for 50 more. Fifty of the first 175 aircraft will be 737 Max 10s, the newest and largest version of the 737 family. The balance of the initial flyDubai order will consist of Max 8s and Max 9s. The deal represents the largest narrowbody order ever placed by a Middle East carrier, according to Boeing.
