HAITEC Aircraft Maintenance GmbH gained approval to perform Part 145 line maintenance on Gulfstream G650 executive aircraft. If we look back at their achievements we can see that this service company has approvals from civil aviation organisations of Russia, United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Bermuda and the FAA for Airbus, Boeing and Gulfstream aircraft. Quite a nice line-up there for them.

It appears as though there is another G650 that is going for sale right now. This time it is the first G650 that was delivered back on December 20, 2012. N711SW (S/N6007) seems to be for sale at the moment. Most of you will know that this particular aircraft is operated by the Wynn Resorts.

Gulfstream is going to be displaying a Gulfstream G550 at the upcoming Chinese International Business Aviation Show (CIBAS) in September. “China has been a strong market for Gulfstream with more than 100 Gulfstream aircraft in the country. Beijing is especially important, because it is home to Gulfstream Beijing, our service center in the region. Gulfstream was the first original equipment manufacturer to open a company service center in China. China is an important worldwide market for Gulfstream, and we will continue to make investments in people, parts and facilities there, ” said Herman Chai regional vice president, Far East Asia, Gulfstream".

MHS Aviation recently became the first German operator to have the flagship G650 executive airplane. The aircraft is currently registered as D-AYSM (MSN 6146). It arrived at Saarbrücken Airport on October 5 and will soon be pressed into service. This is a first for Germany but of course there are many G650s flying around the rest of European airspace.

Owners and operators of the Gulfstream GIV-SP business jet should be happier with the option of having a great piece of technology now available to them. Thanks to recent approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Gulfstream G-IV-SP aircraft equipped with PlaneDeck avionics can now add synthetic vision to its suite of cockpit functions. Gulfstream is also looking at similar supplemental type certification for their GV and GIV executive aircraft.

It appears that Qatar Executive is looking to ramp up its fleet with Gulfstream aircraft. This also means that they plan to dump a number of the Bombardier aircraft they currently operate. You would remember that they ordered a number of Gulfstream G650ER long range business jets and at present they operate a few that have been delivered since the order was made. Qatar Executive seems to be so pleased with these G650ER aircraft that they ordered three more examples on the first day of the Farnborough Air Show (which started on the 11th of July). Qatar Airways group chief executive Akbar Al Baker says that operator will phase out its Bombardier Global fleet, and covert its remaining Challenger 605s from passenger usage to air ambulance roles.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. today announced it has earned approval from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration to upgrade Gulfstream GIV and GV aircraft with Future Air Navigation System (FANS) over Iridium (FOI) using the TrueNorth Simphonē FANS 1/A+ Data Link Unit (DLU). Once installed, the stand-alone unit enables data connectivity over the Iridium satellite communications (SATCOM) network, allowing for FANS communication in remote coverage areas. “This is a cost-effective, compact and lightweight FANS 1/A+ data link solution that enhances aircraft operations and safety in congested airspace by providing Iridium connectivity and the reliable, truly worldwide communication that comes with that network,” said Derek Zimmerman, president, Gulfstream Product Support. “This system operates as the sole data link service on aircraft without FANS 1/A+-compatible Inmarsat SATCOM installed. On aircraft already fitted with FANS 1/A+-compatible Inmarsat SATCOM, the system functions as a backup data link solution, greatly increasing dispatch reliability because of the redundancy provided.”
