Flexjet places orders for at least three Bombardier Learjet 70s New orders come in for Bombardier's Learjet line, this time it is for at least three Learjet 70 aircraft. Flexjet, Bombardier's fractional jet-ownership company is the client. Flexjet is sprucing up its business jet fleet that on average is only five years old. The fractional jet-ownership company has its plans on fitting out the new Learjet 70 aircraft with WiFi and pop-up touchscreen monitors. The three business jets are due for delivery to the client in 2013. The Learjet 70 is the long-awaited replacement to the Learjet 40XR as is the Learjet 75 to the Lear 45XR. Both the Bombardier Learjet 70 and Learjet 75 were introduced at the 2012 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE). Even though they are the replacements to the 40XR and 45XR they can be seen as evolutions of those models as the new designs are based on them with a myriad of improvements. Expect the six-passenger Learjet 70 to have a range greater than 2,000 nautical miles and a cruising speed of Mach 0.75 and sell for approximately $11.5 million.
