Performance Of Bombardier Business Jets In 2017 Canadian airframer Bombardier announced their performance in 2017 yesterday -both commercial and business jets-. In a report released on the fourth quarter and full-year performance we see that the company met or exceeded expectations and delivery targets last year. 2017 was an interesting year for Bombardier on the commercial side of things with the Boeing vs Bombardier regarding the CSeries. The row between the two entities ended when the ITC ruled in favour of Bombardier. Commercially Bombardier delivered 73 aircraft for the year, including 30 Q400, 26 CRJ, and 17 C Series aircraft. This includes 22 aircraft in the fourth quarter, in line with the previous year.
On the business jet line, they delivered 140 jets for 2017. The fourth quarter proved to be fairly decent for Bombardier with 44 shipments. Challenger and Global class executive jets represented the majority of those deliveries with 29 and 13 being shipped respectively. The fourth quarter of 2017 was the strongest in terms of order intake compared to the previous three quarters of 2017, and higher than the fourth quarters of 2016 and 2015 respectively. Expect the in-development Global 7000 to EIS in second half of 2018 as the fifth (5th) and final FTV unit seeks to wrap up the certification program.
