First Chinese G650ER Delivered By Gulfstream American airframer Gulfstream Aerospace has created another first for themselves by delivering the first G650ER unit into the Chinese region. Chinese company Minsheng Financial Leasing Co. Ltd. (MSFL) recently took delivery of the brand new long-range fast large-cabin executive jet. When the G650 was announced in March 2008, its expected range was 5,000 nautical miles/9,260 kilometers at Mach 0.90. When it entered service in 2012, the aircraft delivered 6,000 nm/11,112 km at Mach 0.90. Its descendant, the extended-range G650ER, delivers a globe-girdling 6,400 nm/11,853 km at Mach 0.90 and 7,500 nm/13,890 at Mach 0.85. That means the G650ER can fly from Beijing to Dallas or from Shanghai to New York nonstop. Together, the G650 and G650ER have earned more than 50 city-pair records.
“This delivery is significant for many reasons,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “It highlights the continued need for long-range business jet travel in China, the role MSFL has played in expanding Gulfstream’s presence in the region, and the continued strong performance of the all-new Gulfstream G650ER, an aircraft that was delivered on time and exceeded what we promised.” This high-performing business jet is already very sophisticated but Gulfstream continues to add more features to the aircraft.
