Piper Enjoys Good Second Quarter Performance Piper had a relatively good second quarter performance regarding sales. Overall the first half of the year has been decent for the airframer. Sales rose by 26-percent with deliveries being up by 30-percent as compared to the same time-frame last year. Revenues are up 10.7-million dollars over the same period compared to 2016 thanks to the 52.1 million dollars made.
Trainer aircraft in particular helped boost performance for Piper along with their turbine M-class aircraft. The Piper Archer trainer planes for example has backlog reaching deep into the third quarter of 2018. “The addition of the class-leading M600 continues to drive revenue growth. Additionally, the demo tour of Europe and Africa has resulted in better-than-expected sales, with five aircraft sold -today- and several more pending,” said Piper president and CEO Simon Caldecott.
