Thanks Carl, I know nothing about planes but i enjoy looking at them. 2 of my friends are private pilots and i have asked them to send me photos where ever they go.
Wow, check this out! The vortices on the cloud as this A340 exits it on final into Heathrow. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Virgin-Atlantic-Airways/Airbus-A340-642/2221951/L/
Airbus A318 ACJ...inbound... http://www.flickr.com/photos/chrisjunker/6485997629/sizes/l/in/photostream/ If anyone has nice shots of business jets you are welcomed to post them in this thread!
Interesting that Airbus says it is tentatively looking at the A330-200 to replace the A300-600 Beluga for its transport needs eventually. Below is what the A330-200 transporter would look like...
Black Gulfstream G450 it looks like? Flown by a female! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uywpIT4mGYI&NR=1&feature=endscreen
Always nice to see a good looking woman behind heavy machinery! That's a GIIB which is a far cry from a G450, however - about 25 years of development between the two. GIIB was produced starting in the early 80's whereas the G450 began production in the early-mid 2000's. The orginal GII's and really the debut for Gulfstream into the biz av market began production in the late 60's if you can imagine that. A lot of them are still flying today due to their cheap acquisition cost and ability to upgrade them to the latest technologies/interiors. With that said, I wouldn't want to be paying the maintenance bills!
I honestly didnt watch the outside of the aircraft carefully, I know there is an all-black G450 and without looking at it I assumed that it was the same plane in the video.
The NAA 2012 Aviation Awards are out... These are for outstanding aviation feats that happened throughout the year. Felix Baumgartner's record shattering jump/skydive topped the list. Remember that crazy Austrian guy that jumped from nearly 200,000-feet besting the last record of 80,340-feet, yes him! Gulfstream featured in those Awards too! Their new G150 came up tops for that record transit between Santa Ana California to Hilton Head International in Georgia.
A look at Airbus installing the winglets onboard the first Airbus A350 XWB test aircraft. Those are some sweet looking winglets though...
Well not really planes but Airline! Turns out that Virgin's Virgin Australia has been voted best Domestic airline by customers. The airline was given the title of Domestic Airline of the Year at the Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards for their performance so-to-speak for 2012 according to customers.
Automatic tug? I guess it is remote controlled...wow hauling a big Bombardier Global Express inside a hangar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC35SBdVnCY
thanks for the pics! In the second photo, is that one of thos noise supression devices you can add on to keep the noise down, like a silencer on a gun?
right! I couldn't remember what you call them. I remember Carl did a piece on those hush kits or briefly featured them on here at somepoint mid to late last year.
