Emirates to introduce a shisha smoking lounge aboard their aircraft.

Higher-paying passengers flying with Emirates Airlines will have the option of smoking onboard the A380 as of next month, when the airline inaugurates a shisha lounge on select jumbo aircraft. The new service will be available to Emirates' first-class and business passengers.

The first Saudi Arabian PC-21 trainer aircraft has emerged in its future service livery at Pilatus's Stans manufacturing facility in Switzerland. The aircraft is part of a 55-unit order signed back in May 2012. So far Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft 901 has made its first ground engine runs ahead of its first flight.

Q400s are great little planes... I think I've been on every variant out there, all across Canada.

Our regional carrier down here operates Dash 8's and they are now looking to upgrade and wchoose between ATR and Bombardier, (Q400 and ATR72-6) and eventually they chose ATR and they are to get their first ATR-72-6 this month. I still think they should have gone with the Bombardier seeing that their pilots been flying them all the time, would just be a larger turbo prop with ALOT better avionics and conditions. The ATR cockpit is different in layout.

A 17-year-old student named Aaron Nee has a very interesting feat under their belt. The high school student designed a one-off l livery for Alaska Airlines, dubbed "Spirit of the Islands", which has debuted on the airline’s Boeing 737-800.

Nice! One of my favourite carriers here in western Canada. Haven't ridden on a Q400 yet though.

From what I understand WestJet Encore is a relatively young branch of WestJet. Do you think this is a good move on the part of WJ?

A look at Qatar's brand new A380 being towed...looks like it is soon ready for the paint shed. Although you can see a few components missing from the inner leading edge ing area and of course no engines mounted yet but it gives an idea of how the Gulf airline's first A380 looks.

"Seeing this image for the first time gives me great pride as Qatar Airways prepares to look forward to our newest aircraft type, the world's biggest, joining our fleet next year," says Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways chief executive. "The Oryx is a symbol of grace and symbolises Qatar's traditions and to see it decorating the tailfin of one of the world's most advanced aircraft should be a source of pride for our people and our country," he says.

New American livery arrived yesterday on the JFK/BGI route. It was significant being that the 737 service on that route only started the day before replacing the 752 for the Summer period.
