America's Air Force 2 (C32A) the heavily modified Boeing 757 the US Vice President utilizes for travel is getting old, so is the Air Force going to replace this jet with something more modern like how the VC25A (747-200) is being upgraded to the Boeing 747-8? Coby Explanes ...explains the dilemma.

News is that someone gained unauthorized access to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. Of course it is a security breach and like always there is the PR machine to cushion the appearance of that surprising reality. If you are not familiar this particular American Air Force Base is usually home to the aircraft of U.S Presidential travel, particularly the VC-25A aka what people know as 'Air Force One'. It is this fact that is what is concerning...a breach at a facility which the sitting U.S President typically uses to depart on domestic and even foreign trips. While the individual was unarmed and really didn't pose a threat, what if he was armed? The individual was said to have gained entry into a C-40 Clipper aircraft while on the base. This incident will surely spark a review of the current security at the base.

The B-21 Raider is the new strategic bomber of the USAF for the future. The aircraft is currently in development and will be based off the B2 Spirit of course with all the current stealth related tech available. Some estimates are that the first flight could even be by September or October this year. We will have to wait and see as mitigating factors such as Covid-19 and even cost may push that back. The B-21 Raider is on the right hand side of the illustration.
