If you have been somehow been hiding under a rock for the last 25 years and do not know what Virgin Galactic is...then this should start you off in the right direction.
It isn't just Virgin Galactic from the Virgin group of companies that is endeavouring in space. There is a company called Virgin Orbit that uses one of Virgin Atlantic's former passenger 747s to launch a rocket and carry smaller payloads to orbit in space.
Now that Sir Richard Branson has successfully completed his first crewed Virgin Galactic flight to 'space' it is now time for Blue Origin to do the same. Totally different methods of getting to space. Virgin Galactic uses the air launch method while Blue Origin is utilizing a rocket, the New Shepard rocket. July 20 is the date for the crewed New Shepard flight.
Blue Origin is getting ready to send its New Shepard rocket to space for the first time WITH HUMANS onboard. They have tested about 15 prior launches with this system and tomorrow will mark the first time a human crewed payload will be sent aloft with the system. If successful, it will have sent the oldest and the youngest persons to go to space. Of course the highlight will be billionaire owner and founder of Blue Origin Jeff Bezos going along fir the ride.
