  1. Textron Still Keen On Citation Hemisphere
Textron Aviation is still keen on the Cessna Citation Hemisphere, their perceived flagship model. The company had put a stop on development of the new top-of-the-line jet because of issues relating to the Snecma Silvercrest powerplants. Snecma is actively working on a fix for the engines specifically relating to high-pressure axial compressor issues. That company is hoping that a fix would be available by July next year. This new fix is what Cessna/Textron are waiting on. All being equal, the Hemisphere isn't a dead project...yet.
  2. Senior vice president of engineering at Textron Aviation Brad Thress said, "I couldn’t be more confident. These are competent people. They built 40,000 CFM56s. They’re the largest turbine helicopter engine maker on the planet. They have a host of military engines. They absolutely know what they’re doing." Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing of Textron/Cessna Rob Scholl said, "We’ll probably know in about 12 to 18 months where they are. But we are still very much committed to the Hemisphere."
