  1. Gulfstream G280 FAA Approved Touchdown; Rollout With EFVS
General Dynamics company Gulfstream announced today that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved the Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) for touchdown and rollout on the Gulfstream G280. With installation of optional EFVS equipment, required training and a letter of authorization from the FAA, G280 pilots can land their aircraft without using natural vision to see the runway. Instead, they can use the EFVS imagery on the Head-Up Display (HUD).
  2. "This approval enables our G280 operators to land in more weather conditions, limiting delays or rerouting," said Colin Miller, senior vice president, Innovation, Engineering and Flight, Gulfstream. "The Gulfstream EFVS significantly improves safety by increasing a pilot’s situational awareness at night and during low-visibility conditions". The EFVS for touchdown and roll out on the G280 is just the latest in a slew of capabilities for this aircraft. Steep-approach capabilities, high-altitude airport ops, baggage compartment access above FL400 are all hallmarks of this aircraft.
