  1. FAA Type Certification For Epic's E1000
The long-awaited full type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been granted to Bend, Oregon-based airframer Epic Aircraft for their E1000 single engine turboprop. The aircraft is run by the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67A which is a 1,200 SHP powerplant enabling a maximum cruise speed of approximately 325-knots. Operating ceiling is 34,000 feet for this six-seater and it has the capability to climb there at 3,000 fpm!
  2. With the full type certification in hand, Epic Aircraft can now focus on getting the first customer aircraft ready for customer deliveries. In fact they have up to seven customer-bound E1000s in production at present. If you want one of these Garmin G1000-equipped turboprops then it will set you back about 3.25 million dollars. It has been a long hard road for Epic Aircraft bringing this turboprop to market, about 7 years!
