The Chilean Air Force C-130 that went missing a few days ago with 38 onboard is assumed crashed by its Air Force. "The aircraft was carrying out logistical support tasks, transferring personnel for the revision of the floating fuel supply pipeline of the base and for carrying out anti-corrosive treatment of national facilities in the area," says the Chilean Air Force said. It is assumed the aircraft went down in the Drake Passage.

Another recent incident shows a Citation 560 ditching in a corn field in Argentina after one or both engines quit and failed to restart. Information is scarce and I do not want to push any non-factual stuff out there until conclusive information is revealed.

Because, of course. Why would they? It's not like they have anything to hide.

What do they have to say about all the shrapnel holes along the tail and fuselage of the aircraft?

    I
Saw a video that the NY Times put out that pretty much shows a projectile exploding near an aircraft purported to be the same flight.

A C-130 firefighting tanker crashed in the Australian state of New South Wales while combating the while fires over in that country. The hull loss killed the three crew members that were onboard the aircraft at the time. The crash site is reportedly in a mountainous area but helicopters have found the wreckage. The aircraft was operated by Coulson Aviation (USA) and was enroute to drop a load of fire retardant on wild fires when it crashed. "The Aircraft had departed Richmond, NSW with a load of retardant and was on a firebombing mission," said Coulson in a statement.

Another Boeing 737 bites the dust, or the snow in this case. A Boeing 737-500 operated by UTair skidded off the runway at Usinsk after landing from Moscow as UT595. The aircraft was reported to come in very fast and landed very hard which led to ceiling panels and tiles dislodging in the cabin. It does not appear that any passengers or crew were injured during the ordeal. The jet had 94 passenger and 6 crew onboard and all got off via the emergency chutes.

Preliminary reports from the investigation concerning the UTair 737-500 that landed violently and subsequently skidded off the runway suggest, it struck a snow bank with its main undercarriage just before touching down, according to Russian investigators.

A Dassault Falcon 50 went up in flames in a suspicious manner recently. The aircraft registered N951DJ was sitting down at the Toronto Buttonville Municipal Airport outside of hangar 5. What adds to the suspicion is that a hole was cut in the chain-link fence suggesting that someone illegally gained entry to that part of the airport and fresh footprints in the snow can be seen. A gas can was found near the aircraft as well. The affected aircraft was 40 years old and in good condition.
