  1. Pilatus Ships PC-24 Medevac To American SAR Department

Another medevac configured Pilatus Aircraft PC-24 rolled off the production lines and has been delivered to the customer. In this instance, it has been shipped to the American Search and Rescue Department that serves the North Slope Borough in Alaska. This PC-24 will allow for basic medical care for 9,800 residents across a territory encompassing 95,000 square miles (246,000 square kilometers). Outfitted with tandem LifePort™ AeroSled™ stretchers and five passenger seats, it is the fourth PC-24 to be delivered in a medevac configuration.
  2. The PC-24 is the right acquisition for the SAR Department based on the conditions they operate in. The PC-24 was particularly designed and certificated for operation on gravel, paved, dirt type runways and can handle itself in the snowy conditions as well. April Brooks, Director of North Slope Borough Search and Rescue, explained the reasons which motivated the choice of the PC-24: "The PC-24 is a game-changer when it comes to fast, efficient transport of critical patients across vast distances in our extremely harsh environment. Its unique cargo door, large cabin and ability to safely operate from short, unpaved runways make it ideally suited to our needs."
