  1. First Legacy 450 Converted To Praetor 500 By Embraer

On the face of it the Praetor 500 is essentially the previously existing Legacy 450 but with many added features, creature comforts in the cabin and extra range. Brazilian manufacturer of these jets Embraer announced they successfully 'converted' an in-service Legacy 450 to the current Praetor 500 model. Johann Bordais, President & CEO, Embraer Service & Support said, "Embraer-owned Service Centers are well prepared with parts, kits and skilled labor and are ready to bring the most disruptive and technologically-advanced midsize business jet ever made, the Praetor 500, to our existing Legacy 450 customers, with the company’s primary vision of delivering the ultimate customer experience."
  2. With the conversion of a Legacy 450 to a Praetor 500 adds some extra range. In fact it delivers an intercontinental range of 3,340 nautical miles with four passengers onboard and NBAA IFR Reserves vs 2,900 nautical miles as the standard Legacy 450. The conversion adds around 440 nautical miles of range to the upgraded 450 to Praetor 500. The flight control systems naturally have been updated to include a new avionics load for the Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion flight deck system. The conversion involved teams of structures and avionics specialists, A&P mechanics, logistics, and engineers from Embraer operations around the world. Swept winglets synonymous with the Praetor 500 are also added. Embraer has not named the customer to which the converted model was delivered to.
