  1. FAA Certifies Cirrus Vision Jet Safe Return Feature
Duluth-based airframer Cirrus Aircraft now has Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification in hand for the Safe Return feature on their SF50 Vision Jet. Safe Return is Cirrus' version of an automated landing feature based on Autoland technology from Garmin. "With Safe Return, we are making personal aviation more accessible, elevating the passenger experience and taking the next step towards autonomous flight,"said Zean Nielsen, Chief Executive Officer at Cirrus Aircraft. "The Vision Jet sets a new standard in personal travel with the combination of Safe Return and CAPS, offering the ultimate level of safety, control and comfort for the pilot and passengers."
  2. All the other Garmin Autoland based technologies are installed on fast turboprops and Cirrus can claim they are the first to do it with a jet. Earlier this month Cirrus celebrated the delivery of the 200th Vision Jet to a customer and knowing that Safe Return will be installed on future jets along with their CAPS technology, flying in the SF50 Vision Jet has no worry. This revolutionary system is powered by the Cirrus Perspective+ by GarminĀ® flight deck, which uses all available aircraft data to calculate a flight plan, avoid terrain and weather, initiate an approach and complete a fully autonomous landing without pilot or passenger intervention.
