One of British Airways former Boeing 747-400s had a fire onboard. The aircraft doesn't fly for the airline anymore and was being stored at the Castellon Airport in Spain when the fire broke out. The flames were extinguished by airport fire response and no one was injured during the event.

Another Wizz Air Airbus A320neo has been hit by a ground vehicle. This A320neo is pretty new only being handed over to Wizz Air last year. Conditions at the airport in Poland were noted as icy although we are not sure if this contributed to the accident. Photos showcase the ground vehicle striking the nose of the jet on the port side resulting in some damage to the radome. That aircraft was due to make a flight from Gdansk, Poland to Dortmund, Germany.

Not a jet but a UH-60 Black Hawk crash. The latest UH-60 Black Hawk crash in Idaho is sparking concern about the safety of the type. This latest crash claimed the lives of three of the Idaho National Guard on February 2nd while on a 'routine training mission'. "This is a tremendous loss to the Idaho National Guard and our community," said Maj. Gen. Michael Garshak, adjutant general of Idaho and commander of the Idaho National Guard. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones as we work through this tragedy." Two weeks prior to this crash there was another UH-60 crash in Rochester near Lake Ontario. This helicopter is the same model but outfitted as a medivac variant and claimed the lives of three more personnel.

Today this Boeing 777 had a powerplant failure of the starboard side engine. The cowl separated during the incident and landed feet from a house. The aircraft returned to the field on the power of the Port engine and made a safe landing, no one was injured during the incident.

There was also a Boeing 747-400 freighter that spewed engine parts over the Maastricht Dutch area. The plane was departing from Maastricht bound for New York when the incident happened. The aircraft diverted to Liege in Belgium. Ironically, the Boeing 747-400 was wearing Pratt and Whitney PW4056 engines which as from the same family (not quite the same model though) as the United Boeing 777 involved in the incident yesterday. The 777 was wearing PW4077s. Reports are that at least two persons were injured as a result of the falling debris from the 747 and multiple properties and vehicles were also damaged. Not a casualty in terms of a crash or anything but this Boeing 737-700 was seized at the Miami International Airport after the lessor ordered the seizure. The aircraft is operated by Surinamese airline Surinam Airways. The jet was at the terminal during the process to depart for PBM (Parimaribo) via GEO (Guyana) when just half hour before scheduled departure the aircraft was seized. The bags were unloaded and aircraft towed away from the terminal. Surinam Airways is in alot of debt at present and is said to be at least a year behind on payments for the aircraft in question.
