On November 8th, Embraer Eve mobility will kick start a real world simulation of the processes needed to be run for eVTOL operations. They wont be using an actual eVTOL just yet though. The experiment and validation of operations will run for a month. It aims to operate six daily flights running between Barra da Tijuca to the Tom Jobim International Airport. "Eve's human-centered approach to development seeks practical validation of concepts and assumptions that will help us understand and address the key challenges associated with delivering the service. Rio de Janeiro is one of the cities with the worst traffic in the world, and the simulation will help us to survey the real needs of users, partners, and the community who will benefit from our mobility solutions," says André Stein, Eve's CEO.

Meanwhile Lilium has selected German city of Stuttgart to be the regional hub for that section of its German operations. Dr. Arina Freitag, Managing Director of Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH said: "We want people in our region to get to their destinations in the best possible way and to have a wide choice of modes of transport. That is why we are developing Stuttgart Airport into a unique hub for sustainable and innovative forms of mobility. The regional and supra-regional high-speed connections with small electric aircraft, such as those planned by Lilium, are a very promising addition to the Stuttgart location."

Advanced Air Mobility (AAM)got some teeth and help recently when a bill was successfully passed. In fact, it was almost unanimous support for it. The U.S. House overwhelmingly approved a bill on Thursday that is designed to help facilitate the emergence of the AAM sector. It was passed by a 383-41 margin and it is called the Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act, H.R.1339.

Jetson is right out of the future! It’s shocking how fast we’ve gone from consumer drones to manned drones.

Looks like Embraer EVE eVTOL could become more than just a passenger-carrying craft in the future if talks between them and BAE Systems produce a fruitful conclusion. BAE Systems and Embraer are to collaborate on a study into potential military applications for the EVE eVTOL.

Lilium has certainly taken a redundant approach in the eVTOL space. I counted 24 ducted fans in the rear wing and 12 on the canard. In full forward flight, I wonder how the OTW placement of these motors effects both lift and drag coefficients?
