Breeze Airlines have launched service yesterday I believe. They are starting with 13 Embraer E-Jets...a mixture between the E190 and the E195. The E190 is configured to 108 seats while the E195 has a layout for 118 seats. They are operating out of four airports, namely Tampa, FL; Charleston, SC; New Orleans, LA; and Norfolk, VA.

Looks like commercial aviation seat manufacturer Recarco has shipped a number of seats from its BL3710 and CL4710 model lines for Aeroflot. The first of Aeroflot’s new A320/A321 fleet took flight for the first time on May 25. You will find that the economy seats feature leather dress covers and the business class seats are covered in fabric and leather for an enhanced comfort experience. Below is an image so you get an idea what the look is like.

The CEO of Westjet, Ed Sims is expected to retire at the end of the year. He has cited family reasons for the decision. In a news release, WestJet board chair Chris Burley praised Sims for leading the Calgary-based commercial airline through "the worst crisis in aviation history." "We owe our relative strength and stability in no small measure to Ed’s leadership and steady hand," Burley said.

Ever heard of World2fly? This is a new airline and it recently took delivery of its first Airbus A350! The airline was founded by Iberostar which is a Spanish hotel company, the first plane is the first of two A350-900s the new airline plans to take delivery of. They are getting them from lessor Air Lease Corporation (ALC). World2fly’s A350-900s feature a modern and highly-comfortable single-class cabin layout with 432 seats.

Another airline has gone out of business thanks to the effects of Covid. It is an airline called Air Antwerp. The airline started I believe back in 2019 using a Fokker 50 to ply a route between Antwerp and London City (LCY). Here is how inside the Fokker 50 used by Air Antwerp looked.

The A330-900 (Neo) has become the first large airliner to be certified by *EASA for *ICAO’s new CO2 emissions standard. With this milestone, not only is Airbus the first manufacturer to receive such certification for any commercial aircraft world-wide, but this also demonstrates that the aircraft which Airbus produces today, and will continue to produce well into the future, will comply with foreseeable CO2 regulations.

The new requirement, adopted in 2017, has been developed by the UN’s ICAO Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) and is now being cascaded to certifying airworthiness authorities worldwide. Moreover, it complements existing aircraft noise and engine emissions standards and will be applicable both to New Type-Certified aircraft and to In-Production aircraft. By January 2028 all aircraft being produced will need to comply with the ICAO CO2 standard. Existing in-service aircraft, meanwhile, are being covered by separate environmental measures. Simone Rauer, Airbus’ Head of Aviation Environmental Roadmap commented: “Airbus is proud to be the first commercial aircraft manufacturer to receive EASA certification for ICAO’s new CO2 emissions requirement. ICAO standards are important elements of the global ICAO action plan to regulate emissions from aircraft and engines and to help ensure a level playing-field in the industry.” She adds: “For the A330neo in particular this award demonstrates that this aircraft meets ICAO’s environmental regulations beyond 2028.”
