TBM aircraft owners and operators were introduced today to Daher’s revolutionary new smartphone application that significantly enhances operating efficiency, optimizes maintenance management and ensures they are operating their very fast turboprop aircraft to the highest safety standards. Unveiled during a keynote presentation at Germany’s AERO Friedrichshafen general aviation show, the cloud-based “Me & My TBM” app for Android and iOS leverages data that is automatically collected during every phase of flight.

The ‘Me & My TBM’ app provides unique and valuable feedback on TBM flights, from key parameters of the engine and other systems to a full range of statistics accessible wherever the aircraft goes,” explained Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of the Daher Airplane Business Unit. This eliminates the need to send flight logs, as well as trend and report data files to the CAMP maintenance tracking system, avoiding the fastidious task of downloading data on a personal computer – while also directly updating aircraft counters on the CAMP system.

Daher recently announced a new configuration of its TBM 910 and TBM 930 high-speed single-turboprop aircraft as efficient and capable platforms for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. The enhanced ISR capability for Daher’s in-production TBM family aircraft was announced at Eurosatory 2018, the international defense and security show that was held June 11-15 at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition center (Daher booth is K99 in the hall 6). This new TBM configuration is characterized by underwing hardpoints with electrical connections that enable the aircraft to be equipped with various sensors and large-format cameras. A Daher flight test campaign, followed by the use of a 110-lb. (50 kg.) ultra-high definition camera for photo-taking trials, validated that the TBM retains its handling qualities and flight envelope performance in the ISR configuration.

The first TBM 910 delivered to a Polish owner/operator already attained the flight hour century mark since its December 2017 delivery, and has undergone the standard 100-hour standard inspection at Daher’s TBM Service Center.

This aircraft is TBM serial number 1215, flown by Roman Sobczyk – a successful Polish businessman who is CEO of the Sokpol fruit juice producer in Poland. Created in 1992, Sokpol has experienced constant growth while exporting products to 19 countries – requiring the construction of new juice production plants with constant travel across Europe. A passionate pilot, Sobczyk also is an aerobatic pilot, owning a Zlin aircraft. With his TBM 910 acquisition, Sobczyk is able to combine his love for flying and his business travel needs.

Two TBM series aircraft, one a 930 and the other a 850 completed their journey over Antartica and the magnetic South Pole recently. Both flights qualify as first legs in the rarely awarded Polar Diamond Circumnavigator Diploma which is recognized by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale.

Daher announced the opening of a new TBM customer support base serving the Île-de-France geographic region surrounding Paris, and which is strategically situated in a technology cluster zone that has earned the designation as “Europe’s Silicon Valley.” Located at the popular Toussus-le-Noble aerodrome southwest of Paris, this operation includes a workshop and offices in Hangar 111/112, positioned near the airport’s main entrance. As a subsidiary of the primary TBM Service Center at Daher’s Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrenees Airport facility, this latest customer support base is Part 145 approved by the European EASA and U.S. FAA airworthiness authorities – enabling work to be performed on TBM aircraft registered both in Europe and the United States. It will provide maintenance service, including scheduled inspections for TBM aircraft covered by Daher’s maintenance contracts. Daher today outlined the primary new features for the Model Year 2020 versions of its TBM 910 and TBM 940, which further enhance the experience for passengers and pilots aboard the company’s very fast turboprop aircraft. The Model Year 2020 TBM 940 will be equipped with HomeSafe™, an emergency autoland system that can guide the aircraft to a landing in the event of pilot incapacitation. From July 26th to August 1 the EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin took place at the Wittman Regional Airport. Daher Socata was there with their Kodiak 100 Series III for its first public appearance, and the top-of-the-line TBM 940 equipped with the HomeSafe™ emergency autoland system. "It’s great to be back to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in 2021, showcasing our aircraft and spending time with customers, partners, as well as the many enthusiasts who share our love for aviation," said Nicolas Chabbert, the Senior Vice President of Daher’s Aircraft Division. "This excellent opportunity for meetings with the global aviation community will be reinforced by the participation of Kodiak and TBM owners. Already pre-registered are 109 TBM customers including TBMOPA (TBM Owners and Pilots Association) members. This will make our very fast turboprop the most represented single-engine turbine aircraft type at the show."
