  1. FAA; EASA Certifies Gulfstream G800
Joint certification between the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been granted to the Gulfstream G800 -the latest long-range model from the U.S airframer-. The G800 has exceeded performance objectives and now has an official range of 8,200 nautical miles at around Mach 0.85. This is a 200 nautical mile increase over the airframer's original range estimate.
  2. It isn't just the range projections that have been increased for the newest Gulfstream stablemate. The Maximum Operating Speed has been elevated to MACH 0.935 up from MACH 0.925. Customers won't have to settle for MACH 0.85 as the aircraft at MACH 0.90 high-speed cruise can still attain 7,000 nautical miles. At Mach 0.87, the range is 8,000 nautical miles.
  3. “With the certification of the G800, Gulfstream has again exceeded expectations, thanks to the expertise and rigor of our flight test, certification, and manufacturing teams,” said Gulfstream president Mark Burns. “The G800 marks the latest evolution of business aviation as we continue to build the next-generation fleet and bring industry-leading performance and efficiency to the market. With the capability enhancements we have achieved, Gulfstream customers will greatly benefit from the increased flexibility and range the G800 offers.”
  4. Originally, Gulfstream was targeting 2023 as the period for Type Certification for the G800 after it was announced to the public in October 2021. Various hurdles since then created delays for different reasons but now we have joint Type Certifications for the aircraft in April 2025. With this in hand the airframer can now look forward to service entry. "The Gulfstream team never ceases to test the boundaries of what is possible while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and customer commitment we are known for," said Burns. "We have been preparing for this accomplishment and are poised for a seamless G800 entry into service as U.S. and European customer deliveries begin."
