  1. Air One eVTOL Prototype Crashes In South Florida
An uncrewed Air One eVTOL prototype aircraft crashed in the United States in South Florida on October 23, 2025. Specifically, the aircraft crashed in Indiantown, Florida, approximately 40 miles northwest of West Palm Beach. The aircraft was known to be registered N514AX and was a full-scale demonstrator. Air, the company developing the aircraft, had received experimental airworthiness certificate for the said aircraft. As it was uncrewed, there were no injuries reported.
  2. However, the aircraft was a precursor to the Air One eVTOL two seater personal aircraft the company plans to bring to market. There is a potential use case as an uncrewed platform for small utility type roles. The cause of the crash so far is unknown. The aircraft was consumed by fire when it crashed. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has opened an investigation into the crash.
  3. Air is actually an Israeli company but had been testing the aircraft in Florida. It is looking to use the state as a point of consolidation and expansion into the U.S market eventually. Although this aircraft crashed and was consumed by fire they company has another prototype at its Florida facilities and intends to resume flight tests with that aircraft in 2026 pending the outcome of the NTSB investigations.
  4. Flying the aircraft in Florida is not the first time Air has been operating the eVTOL as they have been flying prototypes in Northern Israel since 2022. Before the crash, Air was engaging live flight demonstrations with the aircraft at Indiantown Airport (X58), showcasing the technology for a small crowd of local government representatives, partners, customers, and investors. The company is aiming for 2026 to gain approval under the Mosaic special airworthiness rules for Light Sport aircraft.
