Didn't want to create a brand new thread for this so I will just put it in here. It's not odd news or anything but general news...

Comlux opens brand new narrow-body completions center for VIP business jets by Boeing and Airbus. The new completion hangar at Indianapolis International airport and comes four years after Comlux America took up the Indianapolis Jet Center, for Bombardier Challenger-series business jets. The new completions hangar is a sprawling 129,000 sq ft.

says David Edinger, chief executive and president of Comlux America.

    Looking for the Impossible

I've been searching for a few months the see if I could find video or photos of something that I remember seeing back in the 70's ( I think it was the 70's )

On a TV news program, either King 5 or KOMO 4 ( Seattle Wash ), I seem to remember a segment where a Vietnam vet actually flew on the back of a Boeing jet, ( 707, 737, 747 ? ) wing walker style. There was a specially built vertical post and harness to hold him in place. The jet took off and did low and slow turns over the airfield ( Paine ? ) the TV station played the Beach Boys "I Get Around"

There is not even a hint of evidence that this even happened anywhere on the net.

A Boeing historian said that was completely unreasonable to even consider the idea.

Tons of people have told me that it's impossible. It's an easy one to dismiss..... danger, risky corporate maneuver, expense...

But, It happened...I don't know if the Boeing company did it, Air Force...or a real cowboy of a jet owner, Kalitta.. maybe Pan Am, who had a Vietnam vet recognition program in the 70's

Do you have any contacts that might know something...or a smidge of gossip?...maybe someone who is in their 50's to early 80's in age...who saw it or worked on the project.

I'm trying to prove that the impossible actually happened. I think it happened, and someone buried it, or just forgot all about it.

This is a clip of the type of post and harness that I remember.

    Looking for the Impossible

Just a few hours after I posted my question to this forum ( one of many posts to many forums looking for an answer ) Mike Souders, who writes the "Indy Transponder" blog answered the 35 year old question...yes it happened and I know who did it. Rick Rojatt flew on the outside of a DC-8 jetliner ( on purpose ) while attempting to be the world's greatest stuntman.

here is the link to what I discovered today...and many thanks to Mike Souders

    Same thing, only different

If it doesn't like that... the YouTube of a guy riding on the back of a DC-8 jetliner in the 70's is here. The film is about the promoter of the stunts. Rick Rojatt, "the Human Fly" is shown several times in the video riding wingwalker style on the jet.

Wiki Rick Rojatt for more ( if the blog link fails )
Also the pilot Clay Lacey...aviation legend on all fronts

Interesting, I flew DC-8s and never heard about the stunt.

Good thing the fanny bar he leaned against did not break off or he would be a human fly with no wings..:(

    16 and did what?

So what did you do when you celebrated your 16th Birthday? This youngster did a triple solo. His name is Drew Gryder and on October 14 he did a different kind of celebration. It was no ordinary day for Drew Gryder of Hampton, Georgia.

It was the day of his 16th birthday and Gryder spent this milestone birthday doing something not many, if any, teenagers had done before. He completed triple solo flights – taking to the skies in a glider, a single-engine airplane and a multi-engine airplane. Amazing.
