Bombardier Global 5000 Line Celebrates 10 years It has now been ten years since the first Bombardier Global 5000 business jet was delivered to a customer. Since then, there are 180 of them flying all around the globe representing approximately 300,000 flight hours and around 140,000 landings. The Canadian airframer is indeed happy about the milestone and through company President Eric Martel, reminisces that the Global 5000 was the fastest entry long-range business jet when it first launched. “At its launch, the Global 5000 business jet was the world’s fastest entry long range private jet.”
“Not only does this statement still hold true today, but the proven Global 5000 aircraft has since been thoroughly recognized in the industry for its superior performance, short-runway takeoffs, best-in-class avionics, widest cabin and greatest comfort,” added Martel. Many changes and upgrades have been made to the Global 5000 class since the first one was delivered back in April 18th 2005. The pilots on the flight deck got Bombardier's 'Vision flight deck' avionics, the aircraft itself received extended range to approximately 5,200 nautical miles, steep approach certificates have been given to the type via EASA and the FAA. In the near future the Global 5000 will receive Ka-band internet service with the ability provide passengers with high-speed internet anywhere in the world.
