Daher-Socata TBM 850 at 2012 Jet Expo

  1. DAHER-SOCATA exhibits its newly certified TBM850 at Moscow’s JetExpo exhibition

DAHER-SOCATA exhibits its TBM 850 very fast turboprop aircraft for the fourth time in Russia, with the company taking an active participation in the 5th annual JetExpo International Business Aviation Exhibition on 27—29 September in Moscow’s Vnukovo-3 Business Aviation Terminal, Europe’s busiest airport for corporate aviation. DAHER-SOCATA announced earlier this year the certification of its TBM 850 very fast turboprop aircraft family in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), including Russia.

“The certification increased DAHER-SOCATA’s recognition in the CIS, where business aviation markets are going beyond stability to a situation of growth.” explained Nicolas Chabbert, DAHER-SOCATA’s Senior Vice President - Airplane Division. “Vnukovo-3 is an excellent place to display our new Very Fast and Flexible TBM 850 Elite since this terminal accomodates up to 70% of Moscow traffic and is the leading business airport in Europe with up to 200 flights per day.” Added Nicolas Chabbert. “We anticipate a CIS market demand for the new TBM 850,” stated Victor Kuklyaev, General Director of Infinity Aviation, which is the authorized TBM sales representative in Russia.“ The 2012 model TBM 850 Elite is especially well-suited to Russia’s business transportation requirements, offering fast cruise speeds, excellent range, low operating costs and cabin flexibility.

The TBM 850 Elite version currently in production benefits from newly-certified intermediate seats with a narrower base; and from a forward shift in positioning of the passenger oxygen system, which enables passengers to be assisted in both the cabin’s six- and four-seat configurations. DAHER-SOCATA’s TBM 850 is the world’s fastest certified single-engine turboprop, with a maximum cruise speed of 320 KTAS at 26,000 ft. (in ISA conditions).

As an 850-shp version of DAHER-SOCATA’s proven six-seat TBM 700 turboprop business aircraft, the TBM 850 combines cruise speeds and travel times typical of light jets with the economical direct operating costs of a turboprop, along with superior range and payload capacity. Since its 2005 launch, the TBM 850 has become an international success – with more than 278 aircraft delivered as of September 10, 2012. The combined TBM 700 and TBM 850 fleet now stands over 600 units worldwide and has exceeded 985,000 flight hours.
