Dassault-Falcon to display at this month's Jet Expo​

Dassault Aviation will be present once again at Jet Expo 2013, in the heart of one of the industry’s most vibrant markets. The three-day event, Russia’s largest executive aviation show, will be held at Vnukovo Airport, September 12-14. The Dassault presence will reflect the Falcon fifty year anniversary which was celebrated in May this year. Two Falcon aircraft, the 5,950 nm top-of-the-line Falcon 7X and the 4,000 nm Falcon 2000LX, will be on display.

Large Russian Fleet:

Russian operators attach great value to the reliability, robustness and advanced technology of Falcon aircraft, which perfectly suit an environment characterized by frequently difficult flying conditions, extremely low temperatures and challenging airfields. The three engine design of the Falcon 7X and the Falcon 900 line are particularly prized in a region where extended flights over inhospitable terrains are the rule and the need for versatility and safety, paramount. These tri-jets account for more than two-thirds of Falcons flown by Russian operators.

The Falcon fleet in Russia and the CIS countries has doubled over the past five years with more than 60 Falcon jets now in operation. Seven new aircraft were delivered in the region in the first half of 2013 alone, accounting for 15% of Dassault Falcon’s worldwide deliveries. “The sharp increase in activity over the past half decade reflects the excellent reputation the Falcon brand enjoys among Russian operators, who have a fine appreciation for advanced technology and high-end products,” added Gautier. “This reputation also based on the exceptional robustness and operational efficiency of Falcon jets, has allowed Dassault to capture about 40% of Russia’s large cabin market.”

Most of the recent Falcon deliveries were for the 7X, the first business jet to be equipped with a fully-digital fly-by-wire flight control system. The 7X can connect Moscow with New York, Johannesburg or Singapore nonstop and is the only aircraft in its class able to fly into challenging airports with steep approaches like London City, Lugano or Sion in Switzerland. It can also operate into very small airfields like La Mole-St Tropez in France, where other jets of its size can’t. Earlier this year Dassault received FAA and EASA approval to install the second-generation version of its award winning EASy cockpit on the Falcon 7X. EASy II includes a host of new features designed to increase safety and situational awareness while taking advantage of next-generation technologies within the air traffic management system. With this approval, EASy II is now available on all EASy-series Falcons.
