First European-owned Embraer Legacy 500 Set To Be Delivered Less than six months after Embraer was given EASA certification for their Legacy 500 business jet, the first unit is set to be delivered to the European region. Earlier this year, the first Australian-based Legacy 500 was delivered from Embraer so deliveries are ramping up. However, Embraer has not expressly stated how many of the Legacy 500 jets they have in back log to be delivered this year. We do know that Embraer expects to hand over between 35 and 45 jets from their large-cabin line which include jets like the Lineage 1000E, Legacy 600 and 650 as well as the same 500.
At the end of March 2015, Embraer had delivered five of the new and clean-sheet Legacy 500 executive jet to clients around the world. This biz-jet is powered by twin Honeywell HTF7500E engines powering it to a maximum speed of around MACH 0.83 and high speed cruise of 466-knots ( FL430; ISA; 4 pax @ 200lbs each; half fuel tank). Maximum operating altitude is FL450 or 45,000-feet with a range just over 3,000 nautical miles (3,125 nm). As the year goes on more deliveries of this clean-sheet fly-by-wire aircraft will be made.
