  1. Falcon 6X Unveiled By Dassault Falcon
Many of you might remember the constantly reoccurring issues Dassault Falcon was having to deal with in relation to the Falcon 5X program. Of course since then, they cancelled that program and decided to look towards the future. Today, the French business jet airframer announced that the 6X will take first flight in early 2021 and commence deliveries in 2022. After the issues Dassault Falcon experienced with the Safran Silvercrest engines that were powering the 5X, Dassault decided to move away from them and use Pratt & Whitney Pure®Power Canada's PW800 powerplants for this new 6X.

  2. The Dassault Falcon 6X will build upon what was learned in the previous 5X test program. It capitalizes on several aspects of the 5X program such as the aerodynamics and systems that were previously tested. However, the 6X will be optimized to handle the new Pure®Power PW800s. The cabin on the 6X gets longer too so in theory it should offer more space to customers. The range has been bumped up to 5,500 nautical miles from the original 5X 5,200 nautical mile estimate.
  3. On the interior there is going to be an update too, the cabin cross section remains largely the same from the Falcon 5X but the colours and style seem to have been updated a bit. The Falcon 5X cabin was marketed with a black and white colour combination and now the 6X cabin is alot more colourful than the previous.
  4. “We wanted to further push the boundaries with this new aircraft, to provide the best flight experience possible using today’s aviation know-how,” said Eric Trappier, Chairman & CEO of Dassault Aviation. “The Falcon 6X will offer a mix of range, comfort and capability no other large cabin business jet can match while guaranteeing fully mature systems and a proven powerplant.”
