Bombardier unveils all-new ‘Learjet 70’ and ‘Learjet 75’

New models have been unveiled by business jet manufacturer Bombardier in the form of the ‘Learjet 70’ and ‘Learjet 75’. They are trying to get these new planes certified by the FAA possibly by May 2013. Both the 70 and the 75 are the upgraded, improved and rethought versions to the Learjet 40 and 45.

Most aspects of the new jets will be clean-sheet and new spanning the interiors, engine powerplants, avionics package and winglets! The interiors will boast new materials and fabrics along with new interior lighting and entertainment systems. The powerplants will be Honeywell TFE-731s. The all-new engines are expected to add at least an extra 385 pounds of thrust to either side of the aircraft.

The Learjet 70 and 75 are destined to receive the Garmin G5000 touch screen avionics interface in the cockpits. Overall, the appearance of the aircraft on the outside is what you expect from Bombardier and their Learjets. Bombardier isn’t being left behind in the ever higher climbing race to build the best business jets. They are investing in the future with these new models and they also fit very well with the development of the Learjet 85 which is currently under development.
