McCauley Concludes Wind-Tunnel Tests On 105inch Denali Prop McCauley has concluded extensive wind-tunnel testing on the 105-inch C1106 propeller that will be fitted to the new Beechcraft Denali. The powered wind tunnel testing was completed at Ruag’s facilities in Emmen, Switzerland. "Through investments in the latest technologies and innovative engineering, we are developing and launching the next generation of McCauley propellers and aftermarket solutions," said McCauley v-p and general manager John Dandurand.
The propeller is a 105-inch 5-bladed piece of hardware that will translate the horsepower of the GE Cataylst engine. The power range of the new engine is also impressive permitting 850 to 1600 shaft horsepower (SHP). The GE Aviation Catalyst powerplant features a dual channel FADEC and propeller control which provides jet-like power control on the flight deck as well as increased operating efficiencies and engine protection. Just remember the Beechcraft Denali made its first test flight last month. Certification of the turboprop single is expected to come in 2023.
