Blackhawk 30th STC completed; King Air 300 XP67A Engine+ Upgrade JetForums in the past have alerted you to the work that Blackhawk Aerospace was doing in relation to upgrading the King Air 300 series. https://www.jetforums.net/threads/n...upgrade-kit-certified-by-faa.3536/#post-23666 We have a bit of an update on that with the news that Black Hawk has now successfully certified that engine upgrade for this model. This now makes it also their 30th successful STC overall. At the ongoing EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin you can see the upgraded aircraft. The show runs until the 1st of August.
The engine upgrade as well as propeller upgrade benefits the aircraft significantly with increased performance over the stock engine and blades supplied by the OEM. Blackhawk suggests that its XP67A Engine+ upgrade improves the King Air 300’s available horsepower by 25 percent (25%). This results in an increase speed of up to 50 ktas. Within 18 to 19 minutes you will also reach FL350 versus 42 minutes in the regular OEM King Air 300. With this upgrade the blades are changed to five-bladed composite blades too.
