  1. Bristow Makes Firm Order For Up To 55 Beta Alia 250s
Beta Technologies recently received a major boost with an order coming in from helicopter operator Bristow. This is not a letter of intent or an initial commitment, it appears to be a firm order for up to 55 of the Alia 250 eVTOLs. "This order firmly positions Bristow as an early adopter and leader in pragmatically developing AAM operations and ushering in a new era in vertical-lift solutions," said Bristow executive v-p and chief transformation officer Dave Stepanek.
  2. It is one thing to receive orders for an aircraft that does not exist in the market as yet and another thing to have it ready to enter service. Beta Technologies has been actively testing and anticipates a service entry for the Alia 250 to be in 2025. In passenger mode it can carry up to 6 persons or it can carry up to 1,400 lbs alone on distances up to 250 miles on a single charge. Propulsion is via four lift propellers for the VTOL aspects of flight and a pusher-prop for transitionary motion to forward flight. Top speed is anticipated to be 170 mph. Along with the firm order for the 55 there is a potential should Bristow exercise it for an optional 50.
