Speed Records For Embraer Executive Jets At the ongoing NBAA-BACE in Orlando, Brazilian airframer Embraer announced that they have received official speed records from the National Aeronautics Association (NAA) for several of their business jets on recent trips. Half-a-doezen (6) records were given to the airframer that involved the Phenom 300, Legacy 450 and Legacy 500.
For the Phenom 300, that was awarded for a flight between Melbourne, Florida Embraer facility to Boston which was just under 1000 nautical miles. The flight was done at 421.40 mph on average and resulting in a 2 hours and 38 minutes flight time. The Legacy 450 which is their midsize offering flew from Portland, Maine to Farnborough in England in 6 hours and 5 minutes covering the 2,752 nautical mile span at around 521.84mph on average. The Legacy 500 broke several records too earlier in the year all being US to US flights. Each flight for each aircraft was verified by the NAA and the Federation Aeronautique Internationale and now represents U.S and world records for Embraer.
