  1. Embraer Tightens Offering Leading To Older Model Phaseout
Brazilian airframer Embraer is tightening its product offering and consolidating its best-selling models and focusing heavily on them for the future. This essentially means that the new Praetor line (500 and 600) and the Phenom line (100 and 300) will be the focus for this executive jet manufacturer. The Legacy line especially the 600 and 650 will see less emphasis going forward. The Legacy 450 and 500 will still be focused on essentially because they are the previous generation and share many commonalities to the Praetor line.
  2. The Lineage 1000 appears to be getting axed as well as they do not see that many of them anymore. The Legacy 650 and the Lineage 1000 were at the forefront of getting Embraer on the map overseas. At airshows, these jets always commanded alot of attention but with dynamics changing around the world and smaller jets having increasing range capability and offering decent space and comfort levels this changed the playing field. Even though older models are going to be phased out, service and support for them will still remain. The emphasis will continue to be on the Phenom and Praetor lines for Embraer as those are the best-selling at this point.
