  1. Supernal Exhibiting SA-1 eVTOL Cabin Mockup At NBAA-BACE
Supernal is a subsidiary of Hyundai and serves as their avenue to get into the competitive eVTOL space. Supernal is developing a 5-seat eVTOL called SA-1 but it isn't expected to come on stream until around 2028. However, the electric aircraft will be using a very advanced flight deck system from Honeywell. Honeywell announced the Anthem integrated Flight Deck last year and it is heavily based on an 'Always-on' Cloud-based system. The advantages of this is that it allows less work for the eVTOL pilot and is a path towards autonomous flight with this platform. Anthem will allow pilots to share data via the internet and also to access software while online inflight.
  2. Other eVTOL manufacturers are utilizing Anthem in their cockpits, namely Lilium and Vertical Aerospace. These companies are much further along with the development of their respective eVTOL's. Supernal though is perhaps taking their time and also 'waiting' for better advancement in battery technologies. Supernal stated they are proposing a 5 to 7 minute recharge time of the aircraft which with current technology is not fully feasible. Refer to our article on Battery Tech being at the heart of the eVTOL race https://www.jetforums.net/threads/news-battery-tech-at-the-heart-of-evtol-race.4394/ . Supernal proposes a range of 60 miles on a single charge with the aircraft operating at between 1,000 to 2,000 ft carrying 4 passengers and a pilot. Eventually though, Supernal wants to transition to an autonomous version that will carry up to 6 passengers.
