  1. New Upgrades Coming To The G280
A few days ago Gulfstream announced that the super-midsize category G280 executive jet will be getting some much needed upgrades. Competition has continually been stiff in this segment and Gulfstream is ensuring their offering in-segment is top class. The G280 model has over 220 examples in service flying around the world and that in itself is testament to the product Gulfstream has fielded. However, Citation Longitude, Citation Latitude, Challenger 3500 (upgraded Challenger 350), Praetor 600 by Embraer all give the G280 competition.
  2. On offer for the upgraded G280 is Gulfstream's own clean air system for the cabin. To enhance passenger comfort and wellness, the G280 can now be equipped with Gulfstream’s plasma ionization clean air system. The system, which complements Gulfstream’s already 100%-fresh-air cabin environment, has proven in lab tests to neutralize pathogens and allergens. Pilots will also benefit from some upgrades in the cockpit too if the owner decided to option these extras. Customers who choose avionics upgrade V3.6.1, including SiriusXM graphical weather with real-time updates; dual electronic charts to help create a paperless flight deck and reduce pilot workload; a surface management system (SMS), which provides aural and visual cues to alert pilots to unsafe ground and arrival operations and helps prevent runway incursions; as well as access to vertical weather and predictive windshear information, allowing pilots ample time to avoid weather issues in flight.
  3. As part of the latest improvements for the G280, Gulfstream has increased the validation intervals for the aircraft’s vertical separation minimum capability from 24 to 96 months. The controller-pilot datalink communication system is now fully FANS-E compliant. "We are seeing tremendous demand for the G280, further proving the aircraft is the high-performing super-midsize leader," said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. "We remain confident in the G280’s proven track record and are committed to investing in enhancements that further increase the benefits it offers customers."
