  1. Renewable Fuel Operated G280 Sets New City Pair Record
Gulfstream announced today that the Gulfstream G280 super midsize executive jet has set another city-pair record but this time while flying on renewable fuel. The aircraft flew from Savannah to Van Nuys in a time of 4hr 49 min at Mach 0.85 with average headwinds of 76-knots. The distance covered was 2,243 nautical miles. The aircraft utilized sustainable alternative jet fuel (SAJF). Gulfstream has been involved with SAJF wince June 2011 so this is nothing new for them but more and more the company is using it. Eventually it will be available for regular use.
  2. In fact, Gulfstream is looking at mid-2019 that customers will be able to use SAJF from their Long Beach facility."We’re now elevating our sustainability commitment by bringing SAJF to our facility in Long Beach", said Mark Burns, Gulfstream's President. "Gulfstream has been involved with SAJF since June 2011, when a Gulfstream G450 became the first business jet to cross the Atlantic on a blend of the fuel," Burns continued. "Since then, we’ve taken ever-greater steps in supporting sustainability, including securing a dedicated supply of SAJF for our corporate, demonstration and flight-test fleet. Our company aircraft have already flown approximately 700,000 nautical miles on SAJF, saving more than 750 metric tons of carbon dioxide. SAJF is not only better for the environment, but using this fuel to set city-pair records highlights its performance capabilities."
