  1. Gulfstream G600 Delivers Increased Range
The new Gulfstream G600 which is expected to be certificated towards the end of the year is wrapping up its major testing activities but the American aiframer is delivering some good news with regard to the range of the aircraft. The G600 has been given a range increase thanks to superb engineering and efficiency. Initially Gulfstream targeted 4,800 nautical miles for this aircraft which was later increased to 5,100 nautical miles. The latest range increase suggests high speed cruise endurance of 5,500 nautical miles at Mach 0.90.
  2. The new range increase is 700 nautical miles more than the original projections Gulfstream made for the new G600. "The incredible high-speed performance of the G600 is a testament to our engineering and design teams," said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. "As part of our continuous improvement culture, they have enhanced this aircraft’s capabilities, ensuring we continue to best our customer’s expectations. We started with a range projection of 4,800 nautical miles at Mach 0.90, increased that to 5,100 nautical miles in 2017 and are now at 5,500 — proving once again that delivering more than we promised is a Gulfstream tradition." This type of range comes in handy with the ability to link major city-pairs like London to Los Angeles, São Paulo to Aspen or Hong Kong to Vienna at Mach 0.90. Of course the aircraft can fly further if it slows down but the high-speed cruise at Mach 0.90 is definitely appealing to operators and owners. With certification aimed for the end of this year, EIS is expected in early 2019.
