News: Gulfstream G650ER Undertakes Polar Circumnavigation Of Earth

  1. Polar Circumnavigation Of Earth Attempt By Gulfstream G650ER
    A Qatar Executive Gulfstream G650ER took off from the Kennedy Space Center yesterday to attempt a Polar Circumnavigation of the Earth. The trip encompasses 22,422 nautical miles and will involve three fuel stops, Kazakhstan, Mauritius and Chile. The mission is dubbed "One More Orbit" because it also commemorating the launch of the Apollo Moon Landing 50 years ago in 1969.
  2. The G650ER has to return to Kennedy Space Center within 48 hours according to the Féderátion Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) and the Guinness Book of Records. The aircraft is expected to fly over both poles (North and South) during the mission. A couple records are on the table to be broken if the Qatar Executive G650ER is successful.
