Gulfstream Offers Plasma Ionization For Its Large Cabin Jets Plasma Ionization is being offered on Gulfstream's large cabin offering in an effort to further improve the health and well-being of its customers when flying on its jets. In lab tests, Gulfstream says plasma Ionization was proven to kill allergens and pathogens. Gulfstream’s plasma ionization system, which operates whenever the aircraft environmental control system is active, works by emitting positive and negative oxygen ions that actively seek out and inactivate harmful molecules in the air and on surfaces. This process neutralizes particulate matter — not just bacteria and viruses, but also unpleasant odors from organic material like cigarette smoke.
This technology on top of Gulfstream's 100% fresh air in cabin work together to provide one of the healthiest interior cabins on any luxury private jet in the skies. The plasma ionization system is available for customers as a retrofit on the Gulfstream G650™ and G650ER™, G550™, G450™ and GV™ models, with additional installation options pending foreign certification. The system is provided as standard equipment on N-registered G650 and G650ER aircraft, with G500™, G600™ and international certifications in development.
