  1. Lilium Expanding Florida eVTOL Network
Normally when speaking about the progression and development of the eVTOL sector most just focus on the eVTOL aircraft themselves that are in development. They eVTOL aircraft cannot function effectively if a network of vertiports are not available. To this end, JetForums is taking a look at the plans eVTOL player Lilium is putting in place to broaden its network of vertiports in Florida. The vertiport is essentially the airport for eVTOL aircraft. They do not take up alot of footprint compared to that of an airport that needs large terminal buildings and runways. A multiplicity of vertiports can be established within a hundred miles of each other allowing eVTOL travel to be efficient and sustainable.
  2. Lilium is trying to bring the Lilium Jet -a five-person eVTOL- to market and is planning on expanding the vertiport network in Florida to allow access to the some of the more dense cities in Florida like Tampa, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Jacksonville. To help this planned expansion Lilium will be working with established entities like Ferrovial Group's Ferroval Airports and German company Tavistock Development. With the strategic placement of the vertiports Lilium assesses that Floridians will never be more than thirty minutes from one of the facilities. The Lilum Jet has a range of approximately 185 miles. Air Taxi operations for the Lilium Jet still targets 2025.
