Been to the # 8 FBO a few times in Fort Lauderdale: Free pop corn, pilot shop and the local FSDO (was) in the same building. Now the FSDO has moved to the middle of nowhere 20 miles away from any airport and with a ridiculous security system with barbed wire and magnetic gates, etc. Just in case the bad guys are out to renew their CFI with force.. The Best FBO in the Caribbean is also familiar: Bohlke in St. Croix; I have known Bill Bohlke for almost 30 years, good guy, good operation. (He also rents out Condos on the beach if anybody wants a cool vacation, Champagne included.)
