"CT: Fighter Jets Scrambled After Small Plane Violates Airspace During Obama Visit (Tuesday, August 7th, 2012) The Federal Aviation Administration said a small plane violated Presidential airspace Monday night. Two F-15 fighter jets were scrambled to escort the homemade aircraft to MacArthur Airport in Islip. The FAA said the aircraft entered restricted airspace over Long Island around 6:30 p.m. The airspace where the plane was flying was off limits during President Barack Obama’s campaign trip to Stamford, Conn., earlier in the day. I don't blame the guy, it's hard to keep up with all the TFRs. Obama has had pretty much every region of US airspace jammed up with his campaign jaunts. Creates a PITA for pretty much everyone - including those of us on the ground where streets are blocked off/traffic is a zoo.
he is a true P I T A when i flew out of la a few months ago we wound up going almost a 100 miles out of the way on an ifr flt plan to avoid restricted air space travler
