Revamped Phenom 100 Revealed By Embraer As Phenom 100EX The Embraer Phenom 100 has gone through some upgrades to the passenger cabin to the extent that the aircraft is now being called the Phenom 100EX. Let's look at what Embraer has done to justify the name-change. The Phenom 100 is Embraer's smallest light jet and the airframer has managed to make the cabin feel lighter -aesthetically and physically-. Lighter tones and colours are being used in the interior now as well as a reduction to the overall weight of the cabin, they managed to shave off 190 lbs. The added bonus is that the price for the entry-level jet remains unchanged despite all the changes made by Embraer. $4,995,000 is the current cost.
There have been changes to the cockpit area too by making it more open-concept for the pilots and the addition of some new software that the pilots will take advantage of. Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System (ROAAS) has been added to the Phenom 100EX’s already sophisticated Garmin G3000 avionics system. The 100EX is now the first light jet with this feature in its avionics. Additionally there are updates given to the radar. Automatic 3D volumetric scanning radar with lightning and hail prediction, stabilized approach and predictive windshear. Garmin FlightStream 510 wireless gateway is also incorporated.
