  1. Beta Technologies Successfully Flies eCTOL from NY to YUL
Beta Technologies Electric Conventional Take Off and Landing Alia aircraft successfully landed in Montreal on the 27th of September. This is important because it marks the first time that a fully-electric aircraft landed at the Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (CYUL) and Montreal entirely. The aircraft flew 55 miles from Plattsburgh International Airport (KPBG) in New York making the trip in 30 minutes. The flight involved traveling through the busy airspace of a Class B airport, which typically sees up to an average of 53,000 passengers per day.
  2. The aircraft was flown to Beta Technologies Montreal location which it opened back in March of this year. "Beta’s technological and operational achievement of successfully completing the all-electric binational flight from Plattsburgh, New York, to Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, marks a major turning point for the entire industry, the region and the aerospace sector in Quebec," said Mélanie Lussier, president of Aéro Montréal, and one of a group of industry leaders present for the electric aircraft’s arrival. "This major first demonstrates the industry’s commitment to sustainable mobility, and the fruit of collaborative innovation to redefine, create and commercialize an entirely new response for the aviation sector."
