  1. First Tourism Space Flight By Virgin Galactic
Virgin Galactic is back in the news as it is taking on its next mission which is its first tourism flight to 'space' with private passengers today. The idea of space tourism for Virgin Galactic has been long in the making. Galactic 02 will take three passengers, a mother and daughter duo and an Olympian to the edge of space. The definition of the entry into space has some grey-area but internationally, the boundary between Earth's outer atmosphere and space is called the Karman line which sits 62 miles above sea level. Virgin Galactic is going by the U.S Government's suggestion of just above 50 miles.
  2. The mother and daughter, Keisha Schahaff and Anastasia Mayers are originally from the Caribbean island of Antigua. They would represent as the first Antiguans to travel to space and the second overall from the Caribbean as a Jamaican American flew on the test mission Galactic 01 earlier in the year. Of course they are the first mother and daughter duo to travel to space and Anastasia is the second-youngest person (at 18 years) to travel to space. Jon Goodwin is the other passenger and was a Olympic Canoeist at the 1972 Munich Summer Games. He also is the second individual to travel to space with Parkinson's Disease.
