Brazilian manufacturer Embraer is going to be at the 2015 edition of the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE). The show starts next week from the 18th and will run through to the 21st. The indoor exhibition will be held at Geneva’s Palexpo Exhibition Center and on static display will be several of Embraer's top-end offerings. Pilatus PC-24 Jet Takes To The Skies For The First Time
Pilatus Aircraft has celebrated a major milestone in their history today as the first test-bed unit in the Pilatus PC-24 jet took to the skies. The first test flight was done from the Buochs airport field on runway 07 in Switzerland where the jet climbed to around 10,000 feet to test the general handling characteristic of the aircraft. First European-owned Embraer Legacy 500 Set To Be Delivered
Less than six months after Embraer was given EASA certification for their Legacy 500 business jet, the first unit is set to be delivered to the European region. Earlier this year, the first Australian-based Legacy 500 was delivered from Embraer so deliveries are ramping up. GKN Aerospace has secured another major contract from American Airframer Gulfstream. They have received the green-light to provide wing skins for Gulfstream's two newest business jets, the G500 and the G600. Cirrus Secures 74-Aircraft Order at ABACE 2015
The 2015 ABACE is off and running and news is that Duluth-based airframer Cirrus nabbed 74-aircraft order from a Chinese operator. The majority of the order is for aircraft from their piston line but they also did get the nod for six (6) SF50 jets, the top-end of Cirrus' line. Company distributor GDAT is apparently the client of the entire purchase. It is anticipated that they (GDAT) will use the SF50 business jets for tourist flights. Lufthansa Technik Signs on ACJ319 Contract For Chinese Customer
Completions specialists Lufthansa Technik recently signed on a contract to complete an ACJ319 into a personalized VIP interior for an undisclosed Chinese client. Second Dassault Falcon 8X Starts Flight Tests
The Dassault Falcon 8X flight test program is well underway with the recent addition of the second aircraft to the testing campaign. The second jet took off on March 30th, 2015 from the field in Bordeaux, Mérignac. MSN402 left and performed a myriad of tests reaching as high as 43,000 feet and a speed of around MACH 0.80. As tests intensify the aircraft will move to Dassault's test center in the South of France. From all accounts MSN402 performed flawlessly just as the first aircraft did. Dassault Falcon expects the flight test campaign to encompass 200 flights spanning some 500 hours before certification planned in mid 2016...
Icon Aircraft Completes First A5 Amphibian For Customer
Light aircraft company Icon Aircraft is proud to announce being on the verge of handing over the first Icon A5 Amphibian aircraft to the first customer. The new aircraft is basically finished and the keys should be handed over perhaps in early June. The A5 has been undergoing stringent testing in the run up towards this point.
