I've been watching off and on all morning.... they just completed a fly-by at Mirabel and should be landing soon.
Maiden flight could stir more interest in the CSeries Bombardier chief executive Pierre Beaudoin says the CSeries completing the first flight milestone could spur orders from some customers who are still undecided about buying the small narrowbody aircraft. “I think there’s definitely airlines that are on the fence that will see this as a confirmation the programme’s moving forward,” Beaudoin says.
Bombardier successfully flew its CSeries airliner for the first time on Monday, kicking off a renewed effort to sell the new narrow-body plane, but raising questions about its development cost. The first flight of the CS100, a key milestone in creating the first new commercial jet of its size in decades, also revealed at least one technical problem. At a press conference, Bombardier said an alert had gone off for one of the subsystems during the flight, without providing details. The "advisory message," however, did not affect the plane and would not have required the pilot to land even if the aircraft had commercial passengers aboard, chief test pilot Chuck Ellis said.
A quick Bombardier reminder... One day to go until the MRO Europe show begins in London! Hope to see you there at stand 612.
