A new suite of hangars are set to start construction later this year at a Colorado airport. Business Aviation Group was awarded a project to develop nine general and business aviation hangars at Yampa Valley Regional Airport (KHDN). They will be going near the Atlantic Aviation FBO that is already established there. The project is expected to start in earnest with physical groundbreaking in November 2022. Construction is then expected to be completed for fourth-quarter 2023. The scope of this project will have the construction of two 120-foot-by-120-foot large hangars; three 80-foot-by-60-foot medium hangars; and four 60-foot-by-60-foot small hangars. The medium and large hangars will accommodate midsize, super-midsize, and large jets, and feature office space and restrooms, as well as LED lighting, energy-efficient insulation, and solar power.

Sheltair is trying to create a presence in Texas by moving a facility there. In fact the company created its 15th location by acquiring U.S Jet Center, located at Denton Enterprise Airport (KDTO). It is the first facility the Florida-based provider has in Texas and in fact it is only the second location it has west of the Mississippi. "The acquisition of our newest location is a testament to Sheltair’s commitment to expanding west and serving the general aviation community beyond the East Coast," explained company president and CEO Lisa Holland. "We look forward to supporting the continued economic growth of the Denton community and providing the nation’s leading general aviation services and amenities."

FlightServ has opened a brand new permanent FBO in Trenton, New Jersey at the Trenton Mercer Airport (KTTN). The work done there cost approximately 30 million dollars to complete. The work in part replaces the 1950s era 2,000 sq ft terminal lounge that was there before with a new 30,000 sq ft two level facility that contains all the modern FBO conveniences that you would expect an FBO to have today. It also has an 80,000 sq ft hangar to house some of the jets it caters for which includes the largest purpose-built long range jets in service today. "When we established ourselves on the field five years ago, our goal was to serve the region’s aircraft with the caliber of services and amenities they deserved but had yet to see," said Robbie Hunter, the company’s v-p of operations. "Our first-rate services are now reflected in first-rate accommodations, providing the ultimate Northeast gateway to business and leisure."

There is a new hangar currently being built in the state of Wisconsin at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport (KEAU). It is a large hangar that is anticipated to be completed by the middle of 2023. Construction on the facility commenced in September 2022 and will be operated by Hawthorne Global Aviation Services which is the sole FBO at the field. The new hangar is twice as large as its previous hangar at 47,000 sq ft. The previous was in the region of 24,000 sq ft. With the added space the company will be able to accommodate long range jets where as before it was confined to sheltering midsize category.

Riviera airport is in the news as it recently celebrated 100 years. The airport is in a place called Savona, Italy and is considered to be the crossroads of France, Monaco and Italy. "We want to invest, build hangars, and transform this location into a major hub for general and private aviation," said Clemens Toussaint, a shareholder and v-p of Riviera Airport. "There is significant traffic from private jets on the Italian and French Riviera, so we want to position ourselves as an alternative. " Hadid International Services runs the FBO there since 2021, below is a look at how the terminal looks.
